2002 Gilmore Artist Piotr Anderszewski is regarded as one of today’s most inspired musicians and is a regular visitor to major concert venues around the world. He was featured in the opening week of the 2009 Mostly Mozart Festival. Recognised for the intensity and originality of his interpretations, Anderszewski’s most recent disc on the Virgin label is of a recital given at New York’s Carnegie Hall in December 2008. Anderszewski recently collaborated with filmmaker Bruno Monsaingeon on a second prize-winning documentary, Unquiet Traveller, which will be shown at the 2010 Festival. Born in Warsaw to Polish-Hungarian parents, he currently lives in Paris and Lisbon.
